Not many people will know this, but mines are still an enormous problem. If you wander of not much more than a few kilometers from the sunny beaches in Croatia you'll start seeing these signs. The governments are trying with help of Europe and the UN to get there woods, plains,... cleaned of these mines. But the people have to pay for it... And it is too expensive. So quite ofter they just send a group of sheep over the terrain. The owner then pays for the sheep that are killed and hopes that they didn't miss any...
